Personality:Izumi Curtis is a strong and powerful woman both physically and emotionally. Both an expert in martial arts and an expert in Pokemon, she is harsh, strict, tough, short-tempered, and violent. And she is possibly the
scariest person you have ever met. This is not a housewife you want to mess with. At the same time, she is caring and with a touch as gentle as a mother. She is sweet and all knowing in both knowledge of Pokemon and of life and is always willing to share her knowledge and her philosophy to the rare amount of students she has in hopes that they will grow up to be a great Pokemon trainer and grow up to be an even better person.
Bio:The name Izumi Harnet is a name of legend in the Pokemon world; a Pokemon Master. There are many who aspire to be under her tutelage, but she refuses them, rarely taken on students if any.
Izumi Curtis, once Izumi Harnet before she married, was a Pokemon trainer back her days, who aspired to be the best of them all. She went through harsh trials to gain an apprenticeship under the famous Pokemon master Silver Steiner. She survived the blizzards alone, climbed mountains and fought bears with her bare hands both along and besides her Pokemon, where she first developed her philosophy and beliefs. Afterwards, she found out that Silver passed away years ago and the man who had accepted her as a student was his brother, Gold Steiner.
She wasn’t very happy with that news.
Eventually she met him. It was love at first sight. He was a large and burly man—a detective: Sig Curtis. Never had she ever been in love with a man. She was eighteen and she couldn’t believe how much of a school girl she was acting. They eventually married and she settled down with him in Cianwood City, retiring from her former life and became a simple and normal housewife, while her newly-wed husband became a butcher and set up his own shop. She had never been more satisfied in her life.
There was one thing that would complete this perfect life. A child. A child to love and have as her own. That was her only wish and desire.
Eventually she was with a child, but when the day came and it was no fairy tale. The pain was incredible, both physically and emotionally. Blood was everywhere and there was no end to it.
Not only did her body weaken after this ordeal, her baby did not make it.
She wept for months and months and months. Nothing was worse than a mother who lost her child and often times she blamed herself for her child’s death. In addition, she became infertile. Not only did she lose her child, she would never have a chance to have another. It took her a long while to get return to reality, but with the help of those around her, she did. But the guilt runs too deep and she is often seen visiting her son’s grave.
Other: Since Izumi has settled down, she likes to keep a low profile on her past and her accomplishments. She is comfortable and very happy with her life and does not like to direct a lot of attention to her (though she may unintentionally do so). There have been a few who have found her (or realized who she was) and seek an apprenticeships, but she refused them because she hates taking students; however, she is very willing to give out tips and suggestions to younger trainers.
Relationships:
Sig Curtis: Izumi's husband; a former detective turned butcher. A large, tough and burly man who is scary looking, but is a good, kind man. Izumi and Sig are very much in love and are not afraid to show it to each other as ridiculous as it could be sometimes.
Daz Curtis: Izumi's first and only child who died right after he was born. Izumi visits his grave often.
Mason: A young man employed at the Curtis Butchery as well as a skilled fighter. Mason lives with the Curtis and though he is not a blood relative, but Izumi and Sig both consider him to be family.
